NRA Firearm Training

The NRA is recognized nationally as the gold standard for safe firearms training, while developing hundreds of thousands of safe, ethical, responsible shooters and instructors. Whether you're a new gun owner in search of training, or an experienced marksman looking to support others, the NRA has a course for you. Our courses are designed and developed by experts in the field to help you learn the basics and hone your shooting skills. From marksmanship and shooting techniques to firearm safety, be the best shooter you can be by enrolling in an NRA firearm training course.

The Instructor led takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. Intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is our most popular course, and will cover everything from handgun selection and firearms safety, to shooting fundamentals and range qualification. We specialize in new shooters, and this class creates the foundation required to be a safe and proficient shooter. All equipment provided. This course is at least 8 hours long. Students under the age of 21, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is not restricted to own/operate a firearm under State/Federal guidelines. Minimum age requirement is 13.

NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 8 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. We will teach you each of the rifle action operations, and the specifics around safety, handling, loading and unloading, ammunition selection, shooting positions, safe storage, cleaning, maintenance and more. Students under the age of 21, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is not restricted to own/operate a firearm under State/Federal guidelines. Minimum age requirement is 12.

 

Rifle, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection are included.

NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. This course is at least 10 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. We will teach you each of the shotgun action operations, and the specifics around safety, handling, loading and unloading, ammunition selection, shooting positions, safe storage, cleaning, maintenance and more. Students under the age of 21, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is not restricted to own/operate a firearm under State/Federal guidelines. Minimum age requirement is 12.

NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course

​

Develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

 

Details:

Attendees must be age 21 or above. This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and a Course Evaluation form.
