Where is the training facility and range located?
Ridgeside Firearms Training classroom is located at 9001 Crystal Falls Dr. Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. The classroom facility is accessed via a residential property driveway and located at the rear of the property. We utilize several separate ranges, located in close proximity from the classroom. Unless otherwise communicated by your instructor, all classes begin in the classroom location. Ranges are located indoors and outdoors. Location and proper dress attire will be communicated prior to your class.
Are the instructors certified for the courses?
At Ridgeside Firearms Training, our courses are taught by experienced and certified instructors who are passionate about providing top-notch training in firearms handling and marksmanship. Our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to ensure that our students receive the best possible training. Instructors hold certifications by the State of Maryland, Washington D.C., NRA, USCCA, AVERT, IDPA, USPSA, ASI, Sig Sauer, USSF and more.
What do I bring to a firearms training?
#1 and most important is a good attitude! Bring exact cash for range fees (if applicable). Bring a packed lunch, drinks and snacks (a cooler is recommended). Make sure you have enough food/drinks to get you through the day. A small notepad/pen. A Driver's License. Your NRA/USCCA ID#, if applicable. Comfortable clothing and sneakers/boots. Weather appropriate outer wear (We sometimes shoot during rain/snow).
BASIC FIREARMS TRAINING-During all Basic firearms training, all training equipment will be supplied to you, including the firearm and ammunition.
Concealed Carry and Advanced Defensive classes require you to supply your own equipment, including firearms and ammunition. Your class notification email will supply a detailed list of required equipment. All firearms must be bagged/cased when transporting in/out of the classrooms, and on/off the ranges.
NEVER BRING LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!
Can I bring my own firearm and ammunition to class?
Depends. All Basic firearms trainings including Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun will include the use of a functioning firearm, ammunition, targets and safety equipment. You cannot bring your own firearm for these basic classes. You will be required to bring your own well-functioning firearm, ammunition, Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster, Sturdy gun belt, magazines and mag holsters to all advanced level classes. Serpa holsters are not allowed. No Steel core ammunition. Having a backup gun for an advanced course is never a bad idea. Just in case!
